Carlos Gil was born in Ferrol (Galicia) in 1987. He studied Marine Biology in Santiago de Compostela University (USC). Carlos was working and volunteering in the Centre for Marine Bio-innovation of the University of New South Wales (Sydney, Australia). His research involved kelp, invertebrates and seagrasses, grazing experiments in the lab and determining patterns in herbivory. Currently Carlos is studying the Erasmus Mundus Master of Science in Marine Biodiversity and Conservation (EMBC) at the University of Algarve.
